Dark Current
A downloadable game for Windows
Weary of sending worker after worker into a warehouse where cursed notes reappear daily, the company hires yet another disposable recruit. Armed only with a wirelessly powered flashlight fueled by an unreliable generator, the player must find and burn the notes while evading the ghost that hunts them in the dark.
Gameplay:
Dark Current is a survival horror experience blending tense exploration with asymmetric two-player co-op.
Player 1, the Note Collector, navigates the dark, cluttered warehouse using fluid movement mechanics such as sprinting, crouching, and sliding to locate cursed notes and burnables scattered throughout the environment. Their only source of light is a wireless flashlight that draws unstable power from the generator.
Player 2, the Generator Keeper, is responsible for maintaining the generator that powers both the lights and the flashlight. As the generator depletes, the facility plunges into darkness, leaving both players vulnerable.
Gameplay emphasizes communication, timing, and resource management. When the generator fails, all light sources die—and the ghost begins its relentless hunt. With each note burned, the ghost grows faster and more aggressive, moving through obstacles, disturbing objects, and tracking sound. The players’ survival depends entirely on coordination, spatial awareness, and their ability to balance risk and endurance.
There are no safe zones; the entire warehouse is a shifting danger zone where darkness is the enemy. Victory is achieved not through upgrades or combat, but through mastery, precision, and teamwork.
